Foundation or concealer may be applied in either order, just be careful when you are applying foundation after concealer, not to wipe the concealer away. Sponges, brush or fingers may be used. I prefer using a brush as it spreads quite nicely and you have full control over the concealed areas.
If you need to find a good colour of foundation, apply near the jaw and neck as this will blend in perfectly. That line around the chin is called a demarcation line and should be avoided at all costs.
It is also great to have a spring/summer, fall/winter selection of foundations as tans in the summer come and go.
Make sure to apply foundation to eyelids as this will help the eye shadow stay put and prevent creasing. After the foundation is applied, make sure it is fully blended and applied under the chin and slightly on the neck.
- If you are out of your foundation but love to wear it, mixing a little concealer with some cream gives great coverage.
- If you just want a little tint, mix in more cream with your foundation for a more even but natural look.
If you have large pores, a really simple technique is to use a foundation brush (I find the liquid foundation brush by CoverFX works best – apply foundation on the face and use quick stipple movements to fill in pores for a virtually flawless complexion. Read more.
