The 4 Best Makeup Looks For Winter 2015/2016

fall_winter_2015_2016_makeup_trends_black_lips1_c3e_650x310

The weather is getting cooler and the days are getting shorter. Winter is coming soon, and looking your best this season is so easy with these easy-to-achieve looks.
The top 4 makeup trends for this winter are:

1.Red Lips

A red lip is always a classic. The red shades this season range from a true red to a dark crimson and even to berry tones.

*Best Tip

Apply the same shade of red lip liner to your lips. Lip liner is great for evening out any asymmetry or creating the illusion of a larger lip. Fill in your whole lip with the liner. Blot. Then apply lipstick with a lip brush — as it gives a much more precise line. Blot again. Use a little pressed powder around your mouth to prevent lipstick from bleeding. Drinking with a straw helps keep lipstick perfect for hours.

I love the Beautiful Moisturizing lipstick by Elizabeth Arden. The high-pigment colour lasts 12 hours with a single swipe —and all while moisturizing your lips! This product pairs perfectly with the Beautiful Colour Precision Glide Lip Liner in Red Door Red. It defines lips with ease and is smudge-proof, waterproof, transfer-proof and colour-extending. Don’t be afraid to be bold! All shades of red look so gorgeous on all skin tones.

2.Burnt Orange, Gold and Metallic Eye Shadow

To make your eyes pop, gold and burnt orange really make a statement. Whether you apply the shadow just as a liner or all over the lid and blend it out, these shades complement all skin tones.

I love the M.A.C eye shadow called Rule. It has a little bit of burnt yet vibrant orange. It pairs perfectly with Bobbi Brown Burnt Sugar or on its own. I adore experimenting with blending or adding a burst of burnt orange to the corners of my eyes and a gold all over the lid — or vice versa.

Interview with Stacy Hertenstein, Perfumer for P&G Herbal Essences

herbal_essence

Have you ever wondered how scents are created for your favorite beauty products? I got the opportunity to interview Stacy Hertenstein who is a perfumer for the P & G Herbal Essences line. I have tried out the dry shampoo, shampoos and conditioner as well as the Volumizing Soufflé from the new “Naked “ line which features zero parabens, silicone and colorants and love all of the products especially the scent.

The information I found out was very interesting and how these glorious scents come into fruition is by doing a lot of research about what YOU the customer are interested in. Trends, food and fashion are also studied.

P&G has also surveyed 1000 women ages 18-35 in Canada and here are some fun statistics:

9 out of 10 women feel their daily shower is one of the few times they truly feel like they can escape.

87% agree that a shower transforms their day.

85% frequently purchase a shower product solely based on scent.

70% prefer a fruity scent compared to floral.

Women who buy shower products solely on scent consider themselves to be spontaneous, are more likely to have exercised within the past week, are more likely to have been intimate in the last month and consider themselves social.

Herbal Essences has always celebrated nature. Pure, clean and fresh are synonymous with what comes to mind. The Shine collection, within the Naked line, features white grapefruit and mint with citrus undertones.

When a fragrance is in the process of development, what the product is as well as how it will be used come into play of the design of the formula as it varies.

An expensive palette of ingredients is used. The perfumer works closely with the product team to create a compatible chemistry. Hundreds of modifications may be made during this time to perfect the look, how well it works as well as how long the results last.

After the products have been approved, they are tested on customers in the P&G technical test kitchen to see how much they are enjoyed. After approval, they get released into the marketplace so we get to enjoy them.

I hope you have enjoyed this blog.

All the best,

Natalia Zurawska

Long Lasting Curls For Your Wedding

Combs

Happy Wedding! Every bride deserves to look and feel her best on this special day without fuss or worry. Here are some very simple tips for lasting curls you can do by yourself while at the destination.

Washing hair the night before your wedding is ideal because it allows hair to dry naturally. It also allows you more time for the next morning to relax or finish any final errands. Apply mousse to hair while it is damp by flipping head over and applying it evenly from root to tip with a scrunching motion. Mousse really helps hold the curls, adds protection against heat damage and tames frizz.

I love the Thermal Creations Mouuse by Tresemme. This amazing formula adds volume, shine and may be brushed through to create any long lasting hairstyle desired. The price is exceptional for the results it provides.

When styling your hair, I always like to section the hair into four parts. Two at the front and a section of the crown and lastly, the back bottom half. If you have hard to curl hair, spraying some hairspray on the section you are going to curl first and brushing it through will make curls last. I start with the back and move my way up regardless of whether it is using hot rollers, or a curling iron. The front pieces around the face should be curled outwards to frame the face. If you are a volume lover, tease the crown first and spray with hairspray. Repeat as needed until you are satisfied with the height.

Try the Climate Control hairspray by Tresemme. It is perfect for long lasting style, yet may be brushed through and really works well against the humidity in the Caribbean and Mexico.

The Curl Secret Infiniti Pro by Conair is one of my favourite. Read full article here…

Give as a Gift – How to Work With A Makeup Artist

smashwords

Christmas is coming – it’s the time for giving. And for only $9.99 you can give an aspiring photographer great tips regarding production so that every shoot is fun and seamless! Communication is key regarding any type of relationship, and one with a photographer and a makeup artist is no different.

Section one: Scheduling your first shoot

A perfect start to get the look you want, how to prepare for it and what to discuss to make the shoot day flow easily

Section two: Terms for Makeup and Hair

Helps you understand makeup and hairstyling terms to get the look you want quickly and easily. This is also great when working with clients.

Section three: Lighting and Makeup/Hair

How to discuss lighting with your team so the makeup, hair and wardrobe all look flawless in the photos. How to set up and all work smoothly together.

Section four: Best Products to have when no makeup artist is present and how to use them.

snippet from my book:

This is a great time to discuss whether the photographer (YOU) will be giving the makeup artist a CD, or prints, or both. You really do need to discuss this beforehand so there is no miscommunication or false assumptions. You should also discuss if you are both wanting to submit this to a particular magazine to get an editorial published. Makeup artist and model portfolios are a standard 9×12 and photographer portfolios are 11×14.

Thank you to all my supporters!
