mereadesso_tinted_all-in-one_moisturizer_medium_900x900

Hi Everyone, my name is Natalia Zurawska. Represented by Judy Inc., I have been a professional makeup/hair artist for the last 10 years. I am a HUGE fan of Mèreadesso products. They are chock full of antioxidants and minerals.

See the details for this limited time promotion!

Purchase a full sized All-In-One Moisturizer from Mèreadesso.com and receive a free Travel Size All-In-One and Travel Size Tinted Moisturizer (Medium shade only).

Just like the original, it’s an all-in-one moisturizer, serum, primer, day cream and eye cream. Still made with 16 botanical extracts, 8 minerals and enzymes, and over 20 antioxidants from around the world. However, the Tinted All-In-One takes all that love to the next level, by also acting as a concealer that helps even out your skin tone.

That’s a lot to absorb, but we’ve made it easy, because you can apply it by hand (skipping the need for spatulas, sponges and pretentious ’professional’ application techniques). And the more you apply of the sheer formula, the richer the coverage gets. So if your skin isn’t looking or feeling its best, we’ve got you covered…literally. Visit Mèreadesso for more information.

Offer ends November 8th

The Four Makeup Brushes Every Beauty Addict Needs

Makeup-Brushes3

Did you know that great quality makeup brushes make all the difference in how your makeup goes on and stays on? They feel soft, have a great shape and the bristles don’t shed. So how do you find and care for the best ones so they do the job right?  You get some advice from a makeup pro, like Natalia Zurawska, author of the e-book I’m Not Making This Up.

Natalia says that when you’re shopping for yours, look for sturdiness in the handle (breaking off in your hand when your mid-application is never pretty) and connection with bristles (neither are flyaway hairs all over your face). Also, keep in mind that you don’t necessarily need to spring for brushes made of real hair. Synthetic brushes have come such a long way and the quality is just as good as natural bristles. The choice is yours.

Warning: You have to keep your brushes in pristine condition or they won’t continue to do the job. Wash them weekly with a mild shampoo for personal use, and condition them for extra softness. Then, rinse well and wring out the water by gently following the shape of the brush. Lay flat to dry.

Pro Tip: You should wash your brushes after each use.

Now that you know how to care for your brushes, let’s get shopping. Whether you are a makeup maven or go for the natural-but-not-really look, there are a few must-have brushes you need to ensure your makeup will last.

1 of 4 BRUSHES YOU NEED FOR MAKEUP APPLICATION

POWDER BRUSH

What It Does: A powder brush is great for setting makeup. It may be used with mineral powder, pressed powder, loose powder, highlighting powder, bronzer and even blush.

How to Use:

Apply the lightest colour first such as highlighter, then powder which matches your skin tone and bronzer/contour last. This prevents cleaning the brush in between and the colour combinations create a beautiful result.

  • Highlight is used to accentuate.
  • Contour is used to define or minimize.
  • Bronzer should be applied to the forehead, nose and chin where the sun would naturally hit your face.

The Best Brush: Check out the powder brush by Eco Tools. This soft brush is perfect for all powder application. It is also animal cruelty free and available for a fraction of the cost of higher end brushes with the same results. Love the bamboo handle as well.

How To Deal With Adult Acne

1440778944_1436215763_dermalogica

Canada’s first ever Acne Awareness Week is September 14 to 20, 2015. Five million Canadians have acne. Acne was once thought of as a teen-only skin condition, however, it is also common in adult women. Acne effects 90 per cent of teens. Up to 22 per cent, or one in five women, suffer from acne during adulthood compared to just three per cent of men. The rate of depression due to acne is 10 per cent.

Adult acne isn’t pretty. It makes you want to run and hide. Here are some effective treatments to help you handle your out-of-control skin.

Benzoyl Peroxide

Primarily an antibacterial agent, the main effect of benzoyl peroxide on the skin is to introduce oxygen to the clogged parts of the skin’s pores. The more oxygen, the more fatal the environment is for the anaerobic bacteria. Benzoyl peroxide is capable of wiping out acne-causing organisms such as propionibacterium acnes. Benzoyl peroxide may also be used in combination with salicylic acid.

Salicylic Acid

Salicylic acid is an exfoliating agent that peels off dead skin cells by loosening the binding substance that make the surface skin cells stick together. It combines well with oil and can penetrate deep inside clogged pores. By doing this, salicylic acid helps speed up the growth of new skin cells, it keeps the pores clear and prevents future acne outbreaks. Salicylic acid may be used in combination with benzoyl peroxide. If you have sensitive skin it is best to start with .05 per cent as the active ingredient and move upwards of two per cent because it may cause dryness.

MicroSilver BG

MicroSilver BG is a natural antimicrobial cleansing product. It is a pure metallic silver powder with a very unique particle structure consisting of highly porous micro-sized silver particles. MicroSilver BG is safe, free of side effects and does not penetrate skin or mucosal tissue because of its large particle size (average of 10 micrometers). The 99.9 per cent pure metallic silver is obtained from nature and, using a patented production process, pulverized by purely physical methods. It contains no parabens and has never been tested on animals.

Sensational Skin: Review of the Hammam and Gommage Treatment at the Miraj Hammam Spa

Taking care of our skin is always essential, but a little extra care is necessary when the weather is changing. I was lucky to get an appointment at the luxurious Miraj Hammam Spa at the Shangri-La Hotel in Toronto for the Hammam and Gommage treatment and it was unforgettable.

I was welcomed at the front desk, where I filled out a form asking what type of pressure I prefer, as well as any sensitivities and health concerns I have. I was then taken to the change room where I was given a locker with a digital lock to put my belongings in, fresh slippers in my size and a robe.

I was then introduced to Inna who would be giving me the treatment. I was given the option of disposable undergarments and a sheet to wear like a towel and then I was taken into a beautiful, gigantic steam room made of Jerusalem gold marble. The room is extremely hot at 110 degrees Celsius. I was given a towel to lie down on and a cup of fresh, cold water. Inna explained that I could turn the steam off if it felt too hot and that she’d check in on me in eight minutes and would be in the next room if I needed anything. I spent 15 (very relaxing) minutes in the steam room and it felt amazing.

We moved to the front of the steam area, which is 100 degrees Celsius, and I lay face down on my tummy, on a towel, and Inna, wearing Keess gloves, massaged me with eucalyptus and black Moroccan soap. I started to feel like a new person. I turned over onto my back and was exfoliated from neck to toe. Read more…

Flawless Face! – Humor & Entertainment – Bublish Book Bubble

Foundation or concealer may be applied in either order, just be careful when you are applying foundation after concealer, not to wipe the concealer away. Sponges, brush or fingers may be used. I prefer using a brush as it spreads quite nicely and you have full control over the concealed areas.

If you need to find a good colour of foundation, apply near the jaw and neck as this will blend in perfectly. That line around the chin is called a demarcation line and should be avoided at all costs.

It is also great to have a spring/summer, fall/winter selection of foundations as tans in the summer come and go.

Make sure to apply foundation to eyelids as this will help the eye shadow stay put and prevent creasing. After the foundation is applied, make sure it is fully blended and applied under the chin and slightly on the neck.

Best Tricks

  • If you are out of your foundation but love to wear it, mixing a little concealer with some cream gives great coverage.
  • If you just want a little tint, mix in more cream with your foundation for a more even but natural look.

If you have large pores, a really simple technique is to use a foundation brush (I find the liquid foundation brush by CoverFX works best – apply foundation on the face and use quick stipple movements to fill in pores for a virtually flawless complexion. Read more.
